Axel is a seasoned tech leader and entrepreneur with over 26 years of experience in founding and leading companies to market leadership. He has founded four companies and is part of the founding team of a global biotech company –all of which become market leaders and generated >$500M in value.
In 1997, he founded netopia which became the largest internet cafe chain in the Philippines. In 2003, he founded netVoice which became the leading VOIP provider in the country. In 2005, he founded netGames which grew to become the Philippines' largest gaming company. In 2015, he pioneered netSolar, one of the country's largest solar integrators, set to go public in 2026. Additionally, in 2016, he was a founding team member of InterVenn, a groundbreaking venture focused on liquid biopsy cancer detection and next-generation disease treatment, where he played a key role developing the company’s proprietary AI. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to innovation and leveraging technological advancements to create and lead high impact ventures.
Jason brings 14+ years of diverse experience as interdisciplinary scientist, lateral thinker, and strategic leader focusing in developing ideas toward R&D projects and startup ventures. He has secured an aggregated funding of ~$4M for R&D projects and has co-authored 40+ scientific papers.
Holding degrees in Computational Science and Applied Physics, he has extensive experience in establishing and directing a multidisciplinary research and development team from its inception. Previously, he held various positions: Head of Research and Disruption (InterVenn Biosciences), Assistant Professor in Physics (University of the Philippines), Head (Data-driven Research Lab), Head of Research and Development (DARC Labs), Lead Technical Consultant (Digenomix, Inc. ABS-CBN, InvestED, Cancer Research and Registry). Having worked on multiple interdisciplinary projects in different industries, he has expertise on how diverse fields such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and other computational sciences can synergistically interact with various domains to create innovative and disruptive solutions in data-driven industries.
Aldo is a visionary entrepreneur and technology leader known for his ability to innovate and disrupt traditional industries. He is currently the Chairman, Co-Founder, and CEO of ViVum (stealth) addressing yet another trillion-dollar industry.
Previously, as the Co-Founder and CEO of InterVenn Biosciences, he led the company in creating a first-of-its-kind glycoproteomic biomarker interrogation platform called GlycoVisionTM using AI and machine learning, which improved the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases through liquid biopsies. This platform was based on the decades-long work of his co-founders, Nobel Laureate Dr. Carolyn Bertozzi from Stanford (glycobiology) and renowned scientist Dr. Carlito Lebrilla from UC Davis (glycoproteomics). Under Aldo's leadership, InterVenn revolutionized the field of precision medicine by being the first to scalably unlock the glycoproteome, which has enabled the accurate and early detection of diseases such as cancer and autoimmune diseases. Additionally, the company's cutting-edge technology has facilitated the identification of new biomarkers and drug targets, paving the way for the development of more effective treatments and diagnostics, such as DawnTM for Immunotherapy, GloriTM For Ovarian Cancer, and GlycoKnowTM Colorectal.
Prior to InterVenn, he founded and was CTO at Veem (2013), a global cross-border payment processing company and blockchain pioneer, and Jukin Media (2009), one of the world's largest UGC licensing platforms that has over half a trillion views. Aldo has a proven track record of success as an entrepreneur, having founded companies that have generated significant value for investors (>$1B) and improved people's lives. Aldo is widely respected for his deep understanding of transformative technologies such as AI, data science, blockchain, and cloud computing.
Dr. Beatrice J. Tiangco is the Founder and CEO of Cancer CARE Registry and Research Philippines Foundation, Inc (2017), which administers a hospital-based cancer registry system called CARE PH. She is an epidemiologist and medical and hematologic oncologist and is principal investigator to several multi-center epidemiologic studies with topics ranging from Artificial Intelligence-powered diagnostic imaging, to genomic and biomarker profiling, to establishment of baseline data on the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
She is also President and CEO of the The Medical City – Philippine Foundation for Health and Development, Inc (1997) which envisions a robust and innovative healthcare ecosystem that encourages ethical and open scientific research data collection, analysis, and publication.
Professor Holmes has been a member of the Department of Political Science and Development Studies of De La Salle University since 1985. Since 2008, he concurrently serves as president of the independent research organization, Pulse Asia Research Inc. His areas of research cover concerns or issues in comparative politics (specifically, select countries in Southeast Asia), elections and parties, public finance, and public opinion.
He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in History-Political Science from De La Salle University, his Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, and his Doctor of Philosophy in International, Political, and Strategic Studies from the Australian National University.
Jojo is Co-Founder at Plug and Play Tech Center, a Silicon Valley based early stage investor and technology startup accelerator, which he started in January 2006. Plug and Play accelerates over 2,000 tech startups yearly from all around the world in over 20 countries in close to 40 global offices, which access a network of over angel investors, venture capital firms, and over 550 large corporations. Since inception, Plug and Play startups have been able to raise in excess of $10 billion in funding. Plug and Play Ventures have over 1,600 companies in its portfolio, with close to 30 unicorns including PayPal, Dropbox, Lending Club, N26, Soundhound, Honey, Flutterwave, among others.
In the Philippines, Jojo is Co-Founder of Launchgarage, which started operations in March 2016. Patterned after Plug and Play, Launchgarage is an accelerator and investor in tech startups in the Philippines and the ASEAN region. Jojo currently advises startups in the country, including PearlPay, Tangere, Taxumo, Magpie, Mober, Galileo, among others.
In addition, Jojo serves as a Board Member and Vice-President in the Science and Technology Advisory Council to the Philippine government and leading universities, helping them bridge technology entrepreneurs to Silicon Valley. He is also a Board of Trustee at De La Salle Lipa. As well, a board member at Animo Labs-ICAST of De La Salle University.
Jojo completed his BS Business Administration studies in 1989 at the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
Lei has seven years of rich experience as an innovative researcher. She excels in formulating solutions adapting data-driven techniques, encompassing computational methods, mathematical modeling, and artificial intelligence. Her proficiency extends to implementing and managing AI-based pipelines, project scoping and development, and frontend web development.
Lei seamlessly integrates research with the practical implementation of AI solutions. She holds a degree in Applied Physics with a specialization in Computational Physics from the University of the Philippines. Currently, her focus is on applying AI to Complex Dynamical and Social Systems through the strategic use of AI-powered social computing for a deeper understanding of behavioral dynamics. Lei's background includes: Senior Research and Development Engineer (InterVenn Biosciences), University Researcher (University of the Philippines), Data Scientist (Digenomix, Inc, DARC Labs) and AI Engineer (ABS-CBN Corp).
Des brings over two years of experience as an AI Researcher focusing on developing deep learning frameworks for healthcare research.
She contributed significantly to pivotal initiatives in liver cancer and COVID research while holding integral roles as a Research Associate and Researcher at the University of the Philippines and DARC Labs. Her academic foundation includes a degree in Applied Physics, specializing in Computational Physics and honing expertise in Image Analysis using Neural Networks. Passionate about advancing computational research, Desiree aspires to leverage AI technologies to tackle complex societal challenges and drive innovation within behavioral sciences.
Gab is an AI engineer with more than four years of experience as an AI engineer, R&D scientist, and high-performance computing specialist. Holding a degree in Applied Physics from the University of Philippines, Gab combines a solid academic foundation and practical expertise in managing interdisciplinary research projects.
His previous roles include serving as the Lead Researcher at DARC Labs, a Computational and IT Specialist at Cancer Research and Registry Philippines (CARE PH), and a University Research Associate at the University of the Philippines. His research interests include healthcare analytics, behavioral understanding, and the integration of AI methodologies into dynamic social systems.
Sophia is a forward-thinking researcher and data scientist with more than two years of dynamic experience on different R&D groups, dedicated to solving complex problems.
Specializing in computational physics, she was exposed to leveraging computational techniques, including AI applications and mathematical modeling, in complex dynamical systems. Proven ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary fields, she previously contributed her expertise as a Researcher at the DARC Labs and an AI R&D Engineer at Venn Biosciences, Inc.
Melrose is a skilled AI Engineer with more than two years of versatile experience in developing and implementing data-driven solutions for R&D projects and initiatives.
Holding an Applied Physics degree from the University of the Philippines, specializing in Computational Physics, she has a robust foundation in diverse artificial intelligence frameworks, tools and applications allowing her to be proficient in predictive modeling using multimodal data. She is passionate about leveraging AI to address real-world challenges in complex, dynamic, and social systems. Previously, she held positions: AI R&D Engineer (InterVenn Biosciences) and Researcher (DARC Labs).
Joseph is a published researcher with over 5 years of experience in academic research and behavioral science in both the academic and corporate arena. He is trained in research, experimental and intervention design, data analysis, project management, and UX/UI.
Throughout his years of experience, he has taken charge of many end-to-end deliveries of successful projects relating to mobile-based well-being interventions, compliance and behavioral nudging, human-centric design solutions, and customer retention in his previous appointments as a Researcher (National University of Singapore and Yale-NUS College) and a Behavioral Science Consultant (Aboitiz Data Innovation).
Jerome is a promising researcher with a degree in Applied Physics from the University of the Philippines. He specialized in theoretical condensed matter physics at the Quantum Transport and Quantum Thermodynamics lab. Additionally, he received training in Bioinformatics and Genomic Data Analysis, as well as Computational Materials Physics. He now aims to apply his Data Science and Artificial Intelligence skills across various fields, including behavioral science.
Diwa is a faculty member of the Department of Psychology of the University of the Philippines in Diliman. He teaches and conducts research in the areas of social and political psychology. Specifically, he studies civic and political participation, voting and elections, and the formation of attitudes on social issues. He also serves in various capacities as a member of different research ethics boards.
Diwa earned his MA and PhD in Psychology, with concentration in Social Psychology and Personality from U.P. Diliman. He has completed political psychology courses from both international and local experts. He has a BA degree in the Social Sciences, major in Sociology and Psychology, from UP Baguio.
